The Role

We are currently recruiting for a Security Operations Centre Operator to join our team at Olympia Estate.

The Control Room Operator is responsible for the effective monitoring of CCTV, alarm, fire, and access control systems, ensuring the safety and security of the estate, its visitors, tenants, and staff at all times.

Working within a busy operational control room, you will maintain constant situational awareness across the estate, respond to incidents, coordinate on-site teams, and ensure all activity is accurately recorded in line with company procedures.

This role requires a calm, professional approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to make clear decisions in a fast-moving environment.

We’re looking for people who are

  • Friendly, approachable, and professional.

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in CCTV or control room operations.
  • SIA CCTV licence holders (essential).
  • Ideally hold an SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding licence.
  • Able to work 12-hour shifts including days, nights, weekends, and event days.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Monitoring CCTV, alarm, fire, and access control systems.
  • Responding to all alarms, incidents, and system alerts.
  • Dispatching security or facilities teams when required.
  • Coordinating response to fire alarms, medical incidents, lift entrapments, and security incidents.
  • Maintaining accurate incident logs and control room records.
  • Communicating clearly with on-site teams using radio and telephone systems.
  • Supporting event operations and high-footfall periods.
  • Operating fire panels, sprinkler systems, and life-safety systems.
  • Carrying out isolations and de-isolations in line with procedures.
  • Retrieving CCTV footage and preparing evidence when required.
  • Escalating incidents to supervisors or management when necessary.
  • Ensuring all procedures are followed in line with company and estate policies.

Requirements

  • SIA CCTV Licence (essential)
  • Previous control room or CCTV experience preferred
  • Good understanding of fire alarm and safety systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm in emergency situations
  • Basic IT skills and ability to use monitoring systems
  • 5-year checkable work history
  • Right to work in the UK
