We have vacancies for exceptional customer focused Night Secutity Team Leader to work on behalf of Carlisle Support Services at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. This is an opportunity to work in a vibrant and fast paced environment as a part of a professional and personable team.

19.00 to 07.00 (4 on 4 off plus over time – may differ as per client request). 
3 month probation period.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Be aware of what's always happening on-site by following the handover procedure and reviewing information from previous shifts.
  • Be aware of the relevant emergency and escalation procedures as the first point of contact when an incident occurs.
  • Secure the site by controlling access and egress, carrying out security patrols to deter crime.
  • Be aware of hazards, react to medical incidents and responding appropriately.
  • Ensure the control room/gatehouse is kept clean and tidy for the next shift.
  • Operate the control room/gatehouse and reception systems.
  • Physically fit as the role requires a degree of patrolling.
  • Liaising with NHS staff.
  • Responding to emergency bleeps.
  • Responding to high risk situation deal with members of the public in hospital.
  • Hospital security experience preferred.
  • Restraining patients if necessary if they become violent.
  • Protection of NHS staff, equipment and other patients.
  • Conducting security-related drills and exercises.
  • Attending further training as requested by the client.
  • Creating lesson plans and other training materials.
  • Making sure staff are in Carlisle branded uniform.
  • Creating testing and evaluation processes.
  • May Include instructing approved security officer training and providing training for trainers.
  • Meeting with the client's team members to identify training needs and oversee development programs.
  • Acting to the role of Security manager when required
  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring security officer training programs.
  • Assisting policy design with the client and testing operationally for effective process
  • To develop rotational shift training including the identification of an officer to assist for period to stabilise and enhance good practice within the teams for consistency. 

Attributes:

  • Provide a check-able work history for the past 5 Years and meet UK Home Office Security Screening Standards.
  • Proven work experience as a Security Officer or in a customer service role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - especially Excel & Word.
  • Previous experience with office equipment.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to be calm and professional when issues arise and deal with patients.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills
