We’re looking for people who are

• At least 18 years old - licence requirement by the Security Industry Authority.

• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence holders.

• Provide a smart, visible, proactive, and engaging security presence and deterrent
• Effective conflict management, always taking control of incidents 
• Control access and egress, conducting security patrols to deter crime
• Able to proactively and professionally engage with the public
• Be aware of hazards and incidents, and responding appropriately 
• Providing guidance, information and directing customers as a first point of contact
• Managing and following safety and security processes and procedures
• Working as part of a team, building strong working relationships
• Revenue Protection Operations 
• Support station staff with any incidents
• Suicide Prevention
• Anti-Social Behaviour
• Fare evasion
• Safeguarding Vulnerability 
• Byelaw observations/enforcement
• Counter Terrorism Patrols 
• Patrolling Trains across the Network 
• Engagement with members of the public 
• Travel the Railway Network with EASE
• Railway Safety Guidance
• VAWAG Violence against Women and Girls 
• Male/Female Operators
• Across WMT Network Stations 
• Drivers also seeking 2+ years driving no more than 3 points 
• Your core role will include but not be limited to the following activities:
    
  • What You'll Be Doing

    As part of a highly visible and proactive team, you will:

    Provide a reassuring security presence across stations and train services

     Help prevent crime, anti-social behaviour, fare evasion, and safety incidents

    Engage positively with customers, offering guidance, support, and information

     Respond confidently and professionally to incidents, taking control when required

    Conduct station and onboard patrols to maintain a safe environment

    Support revenue protection operations and byelaw enforcement activities

    Build strong working relationships with station teams, train crews, and key stakeholders

    Identify vulnerable individuals and safeguard those who may need assistance

    Assist with suicide prevention initiatives and welfare interventions

    Support Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) campaigns and public safety operations

    Carry out Counter Terrorism patrols and remain vigilant to emerging threats

    Promote railway safety and educate customers on safe travel practices

    Travel extensively across the rail network, supporting operations where needed
    
    

  • Additional Specialist Responsibilities

    Supporting policing and security operations at football matches, concerts, sporting fixtures, and other major events

    Working alongside rail staff, event organisers, British Transport Police, and partner agencies to manage large crowds and ensure public safety

    Delivering crowd management, queue control, and customer assistance during high-footfall events

    Assisting with the safe movement of passengers before, during, and after major events across the railway network

    Proactively identifying and responding to potential safety, security, and anti-social behaviour concerns associated with large gatherings

Previous experience in security is great, but if you’ve only recently got your SIA licence that’s fine. What’s just as important is your enthusiasm and willingness to learn. We will provide all the training and support you need to succeed. Our goal is to help you to become a valued member of the Carlisle team.
