We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable and dedicated individuals to join our Events team, supporting the delivery of world-class events across this renowned waterfront destination. From major conferences and exhibitions to concerts, live entertainment and sporting events, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming and memorable experience for visitors.
This is a casual role offering ongoing work throughout the year, with shifts available as events take place. Events vary in size and frequency, with the majority of shifts taking place during evenings and weekends. While hours cannot be guaranteed, we have a busy events calendar and regularly offer work to our casual team members.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience supporting a diverse range of events, from conferences and exhibitions to live entertainment and sporting events. Whether you're looking to start a career in the events industry or build on existing experience, full training and support will be provided.
Pay: £13.45 per hour
Location: L3 4FP
Hours: Casual, event-based work. Shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with most events typically ranging between 6-8 hours. A variety of morning, afternoon, evening and late-night shifts are available depending on event requirements.
Candidates must be available to work Monday 28 September and Tuesday 29 September. Beyond these dates, work is offered on a fully casual and ad hoc basis, allowing team members to choose from available shifts throughout the year based on their own availability and our event schedule. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work that can fit around studies, existing employment or other commitments.
Your Core Role Will Include- Providing guidance, information and directing customers as a first point of contact
- Delivering an excellent level of venue knowledge and customer service
- Managing and following safety and security processes and procedures
- Monitoring and controlling crowds
- Preventing unlawful entry into venues
- Ensuring safe entry and exit of customers
- Checking tickets and accreditation
- Managing conflict
- Working effectively as part of a team
- At least 18 years old (required to work in a licensed environment)
- Reliable, punctual, flexible and smart in appearance
- Friendly, approachable and always professional
- Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job
- Previous experience in events, hospitality, retail or customer service is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
- Able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
- Level 2 Certificate in Spectator Safety, or willingness to obtain the qualification (desirable)
- Willing to work at other Carlisle Events venues across the region (desirable)
Successful candidates will need to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. This could include a passport, driving licence, utility bill dated within the last 3 months, HMRC letter, original bank statement, original payslip, birth certificate or a valid share code.
