The role
Carlisle Support Services is looking for enthusiastic, reliable, and dedicated individuals to join our team, working with our prestigious clients. Location: Stafford
Hours: 4 days a week,12-hour shifts (05:00 to 00:00). These shifts will vary week on week 12 hours shifts, 48 hours (45 paid) a week.
Pay: £16.35 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tactical security support across multiple retail locations, responding to theft trends, incidents, and high-risk stores.
- Conduct overt and covert surveillance to identify, deter, and prevent theft, fraud, and organised retail crime.
- Maintain a highly visible presence when required to deter offenders and reassure colleagues, customers, and clients.
- Monitor CCTV systems and use intelligence-led approaches to identify suspicious behaviour and criminal activity.
- Safely and lawfully detain suspected offenders where appropriate, in line with company procedures and legislation.
- Gather evidence, complete detailed incident reports, and produce professional statements for clients and police investigations.
- Support stores experiencing elevated levels of theft, anti-social behaviour, or security-related incidents.
- Liaise effectively with store management, retail colleagues, law enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct security audits and identify opportunities to improve store loss prevention measures.
- Assist with investigations into theft, fraud, and other incidents, ensuring all evidence is accurately documented.
- Travel between locations as required, providing flexible operational support across the region.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, customer service, and conduct while representing Carlisle and our client.
The ideal candidate
- Must be at least 18 years old, as required to work in a front-line licensable security role.
- Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor (DS) Licence (Essential).
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and have held it for a minimum of 2 years.
- Must have no more than 6 penalty points on their driving licence.
- Strong communication skills and good computer literacy.
- Able to provide a 5-year checkable work and address history.
- Reliable, punctual, flexible, and smart in appearance.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional at all times.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and committed to delivering excellent service.
- Previous retail security, loss prevention, CCTV, or customer-facing experience is advantageous.
- Experience of dealing with theft, shoplifting, anti-social behaviour, and conflict management is desirable.
- Able to interact confidently with clients, customers, colleagues, and members of the public in a positive and professional manner.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently when required.
- Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation as part of our detailed screening and vetting process.
