About the Role

As a Security Officer, you will provide a highly visible and professional security presence across warehouse and logistics environments. You will be responsible for safeguarding personnel, facilities, stock, vehicles, and operations while ensuring exceptional customer service standards.

The role combines traditional security responsibilities with operational support, including goods-in and goods-out processes, loading bay monitoring, CCTV surveillance, access control, stock protection, and incident management.

You will be expected to work independently and as part of a wider security team, maintaining high levels of professionalism whilst ensuring all site procedures, health and safety requirements, and security standards are followed.

In addition to warehouse operations, successful candidates may also be required to support rail depot locations within:

• Rotherham
• Sheffield
• Doncaster
• Nottingham

Travel between locations may be required.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will include, but not be limited to:

• Ensuring the safety and security of colleagues, visitors, contractors, and customers.
• Providing a visible, professional, and proactive security presence.
• Conducting internal and external security patrols.
• Monitoring loading bays and vehicle movements.
• Managing access and egress for staff, visitors, contractors, and delivery drivers.
• Booking in visitors and maintaining accurate site records.
• Escorting contractors and visitors whilst on site.
• Conducting security searches in accordance with company procedures.
• Monitoring and operating CCTV systems.
• Responding appropriately to alarms, incidents, and suspicious activity.
• Supporting stock protection and loss prevention measures.
• Assisting with stock counting and inventory audits.
• Monitoring goods-in and goods-out processes.
• Completing security reports and incident documentation.
• Managing conflict situations professionally and effectively.
• Identifying hazards and responding to safety concerns.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and security procedures.
• Delivering exceptional customer service as a first point of contact.
• Building strong working relationships with clients and site teams.
• Supporting the protection of company assets and facilities.

• Awareness of warehouse health and safety practices.
• Flexibility regarding shifts and deployment locations.
• A willingness to travel between sites when required.

Essential Requirements

✅ Valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence or Security Guarding Licence

✅ Full UK Driving Licence

✅ Excellent written and verbal communication skills

✅ Ability to work a mixture of days, nights, weekends, and bank holidays

✅ Eligible to work within the UK

Is this you

• At least 18 years old- Required for a licensable role 
• SIA Guarding or Door Supervision licence
• 5 years checkable work and address history
• Reliable, punctual, flexible, and smart in appearance
• Friendly, approachable, and always professional 
• Enthusiastic and motivated to do a great job
• Ideally some experience within a Security environment or a customer facing role
• Able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner
• Some experience working within a Security environment and working as part of a team
• Effective people skills, able to interact with clients and customers in a positive manner

Successful candidates will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. This could include the following: passport, driving licence, utility bill dated in the last 3 months, HMRC letter, original bank statement, original payslip, birth certificate or a valid share code.
